This amazing photo was taken by my eldest sister, Kerry, who shared with us the amazing experience of Chausiku’s birth. Chausiku amazed the doctors and midwives with her tight grasp of the umbilical cord, I remember hearing the doctor saying “Let go of the cord mate!” then he laughed and said “well we haven’t had that happen before!”. I love this photo so much and will never be able to thank Kerry enough for capturing that moment for us. We are so blessed!
Chausiku is our dear little dolly, who is currently 6 months old. She has completed our little family circle – we just can’t imagine life without her now.
The origin of Chausiku’s name is Swahili, pronounced ‘chah-oo-SEE-koo’. She was named after her grandmother, who still lives in Kenya.
She spoke her first word – Mum – on Tuesday, 22nd of July 2008.
[Edit - Nov 13th, 2008] Chausiku is now 9mths old! She is crawling, teething, and able to walk around while holding furniture or your hands. She loves to say “Dad”, “Dada”, “Daddy”, “Mum”, “Yum”, and blow rasperries and laugh. Her favourite game is peek-a-boo, she loves to cover her face with a blanket or cloth and when we ask “Where’s Chausiku?” she pulls the blanket away from her face and give you the most beautiful smile and giggle. She’s just so precious! [/Edit]

How do you pronounce the baby’s name? What a beautiful name! And of course very fitting for a beautiful girl!
You have a lovely family… and I do understand the ‘not being cool if you show what a tender heart you have’ thing for the 16 year old. *Giggles*
